"A Thousand Changes and a Hundred Wonders" is a campus legend visual novel created by FUZZY PYTHON and T.W.B. Futsu Kansaka, who loves urban legends, investigates mysteries at school, and thus comes into contact with gods, grudges, and conspiracies across multiple eras.

An unbelievable investigation

Out of curiosity, Kanzaka Futsu entered a school full of ghost stories and began collecting and investigating mysteries. She gradually realized that the rumors were not unrelated campus anecdotes, but connected to long-standing connections, arranged events, and the purposes of the parties involved. The story focuses on horror and action scenes, but also includes the emotions between characters.

Three main characters

The Encounter arc starts with Futsu, the dedication arc shifts to the ghost-fearing Nagi Ashihara, and the Remnant arc centers on Iwakuni Eruno. Different protagonists approach school anomalies in different ways; Old characters also reappear across chapters. For example, the early second-year student Sana Amamiya is already in her thirties by the time of the Ruins arc.

Students and faculty

Kana Okitsu has been Futsu's friend since junior high; Seori Amamiya and Sana are siblings. Takara Takeuchi, a Japanese language teacher; Kotoshiro, a biology teacher; Kotoko Fukui, a care teacher; and a mysterious janitor, Sai Furaya, together form the school's social network, but their daily identities are not enough to reveal the secrets each holds.

Characters in the later chapters

Nagi was in the same class as Kiriko Hata, Aya Hire, and Toyoo Kibitsu, and Aya Hire even participated with her on the cultural festival executive committee. In the Remnant Arc, Yataka Ogihiko returns after seven years away and leads Erno toward the seal; Tajiken no Mami, who has long examined Erno, and Genyu, the chief priest of Amamiya Shrine, are also involved in the research.

Reading Form

The game was developed by NScripter, with protagonists having fixed names and clear personalities. The official Q&A explains that the second chapter has a few choices, but it is not a conventional romantic structure where readers can freely choose male targets. Each piece is estimated to last six to seven hours, and the work contains descriptions of bloodshed and brutality.

Production and data collection

Python was responsible for the script and script programming, Hiro Futaki was the artist, and Yujiro Kai, Misuzu Tayama, Icamu Oshimi, and GAKIE participated in character design and collaboration. Each story also includes a 48-page full-color setting book titled "Goshouhetsu Research Report," which includes terminology, setting diagrams, scrapped cases, and promotional posters.

Compilation version

The official website combines the three stories of encounters, dedications, and relics published between 2007 and 2011, along with additional content, into the free TRINITAS EDITION. The author's release page also notes that the collection includes the 'Fugong' section. The platform registration date and document update date are distribution records and differ from the initial disclosure dates of each section.
