Urban cross-section of Y Zone

The work is set in District Y, an international district gathering immigrant communities. On the surface, there is commerce and civic life, but on the other side, it is a dangerous area where police forces are weak and gangs control underground spaces. The work takes urban systems and the situation of marginalized groups as important backdrops.

Multiple character perspectives

The story's perspective spans different social positions: members of gang families, people living in slums with psychic powers, and activists speaking up for discriminated mutants. The characters come from different social classes and goals, and multiple storylines piece together the interconnected appearance of the same district.

Due to her Type A status and special constitution, Sakura Onda was ostracized at school and part-time jobs. After staying indoors, she flew to Y District, where she met Shiu, who lived in Kristower, and gradually gained acceptance from Ryo and Michio.

The old story of the three Hui siblings

After buying a gift, he fell ill and rushed to Y District to look for his sister, only to be mistakenly injured by the sisters who didn't know his appearance, mistaking her for a monster. Xie Liang then ended his suffering and killed for the first time. The sisters later lived in the Cedro Housing Complex, helping the displaced Sashenka and leaving the complex to protect him.

Hospital attack during birthday party

National Makigawara Hospital, also known as Type B shelter, cared for female patients on the third floor of Ward B by Misa Nomi, including Hiromi Uchida. When the Eight Dragons Society PLA attacked the hospital under the pretext of treating and liberating patients, the ward was holding a birthday party. Caregivers treat a choking patient, but Deputy Leader Camilla mistakes her for an act of violence; Doff questions the practices of harming patients and nurses during his actions.
