Composition on paper transitions to digital retouching
In early interviews, Redjuice explained that he often drafted compositions on paper first, then scanned them into digital environments to facilitate movement, zoom, and redrawing. Coloring and background drafts are completed in SAI, then compositing and finishing are sent to Photoshop, and the main monitor is used to check the tone.
Decompose 3D rendering into texture materials
After trying to paint on the XSI rendering results, he felt the original material was more suitable. Later, when using 3D materials, renderings were often taken apart to form texture collages, reconstructing objects with a three-dimensional feel.
Concept for the new painting's form
For CLIP STUDIO PAINT's newly illustrated "GIRLS FROM HELL" series, redjuice combines demons with futuristic technology elements, transforming the Reaper's scythe into a chainsaw and adding the common cycling shoe knob structure to the shoe.
Chainsaw drafts and editable chains
Redjuice first created a 3D model for the chainsaw, then redrew the design and drew lines with a symmetry ruler. The chains are drawn with homemade brushes on vector layers that remain edited, making it easier to adjust spacing and size later.
