Four actors

The official names are the positions of the four characters: HERO, MAIDEN, UNDERLING, and OVERLORD. Players choose one person as the current perspective, while other characters in the same event act according to their respective actions. Reading from another character, you can see previously unrevealed motives and circumstances, gradually piecing together what happens in the theater.

Choices that influence each other

The decisions made in one story affect the fate of other characters. Already obtained behavioral conditions can be enabled or disabled, thereby opening new paths. The focus of the puzzle is to compare the causal relationships between characters: one person's actions may precisely change another's chances of entering or leaving danger.

Ending and production

The author lists over forty endings, about six hundred illustrations, and a text volume of approximately sixteen thousand English words. Repeatedly encountering bad endings is both a narrative theme and a process of understanding the rules. Story, art, and music were done by NomnomNami, with animation by chunderfins; The actual reading time depends on how players explore the branches.

From character themes to endgame music

The original soundtrack was released on October 26, 2021, with a catalog of thirty-one tracks. The hero, girl, follower, and demon king each have their own theme and requiem, with the endgame including "YOUR final battle," "YOUR ending," and "THEIR song." The last two tracks are the bad end and true end versions of "BAD END THEATER," credited to Eleanor Forte Lite in the title.

Division of labor for the performance of the work

NomnomNami completed the story, art, and music, while chunderfins handled the animation. The repertoire structure also echoes the four perspectives and the final theatrical story.
