Experience at the Theatre Company
Higurashi Chabou originally began working at Run and Gun, and in 2012 established a separate theater company, Elephante, where he served as its representative. His professional activities have expanded from his original company experience to independently organizing script businesses, with the names of the two companies corresponding to different organizational stages.
Activities connecting screenwriters and their work
Rimu organized year-end screenwriter exchange meetings, with about 150 to 200 participants. He hopes to become a hub connecting peers, allowing practitioners to meet each other through gatherings, and to turn these connections into collaboration and job opportunities in the future. Networking activities also become a professional practice beyond the script business.
Transitioned from a game magazine to a script
Higurashi recalled that he originally worked at ASCII on Sega Saturn-related publications, but after a collective layoff, his planned Dreamcast publication work was not realized, so he switched to freelance writing. Around the year 2000, he began experimenting with game scriptwriting through projects like "Memories Off," a new field he had no experience with at the time.
From single-project writing to organizing group scripts
After the series continued, Rimu received invitations to rewrite novels and other games, gradually taking on the entire game script. The writing volume required multiple authors to share the workload, so he added more writers to Run & Gun's scriptwriting department and took on organizational responsibilities.
Material specifications and performance handover
Niguru emphasized that before starting to write, you need to know the background and expressions, and the specifications of the characters appearing together in order to create the scenes that can be realized in the artwork. Regular performances are handled by the performer, and when dialogue and expressions are deliberately opposed, the scriptwriter should clearly state instructions. He also pointed out that scripts are usually upstream in material production, and delays in delivery affect subsequent visuals and music commissions.
