Transitioned from science high school to art exam preparation
When Atsuya Uki was in his third year at a science high school, he decided to study painting in November. After failing his first art university exam, he spent a year preparing for the exam, continuously practicing sketching for entrance exams at an art preparatory school, and then entered university.
Animation materials and monster moves
When producing the "Cencoroll" series, Uki chose Sapporo as the stage to conveniently go out and take photos whenever he needed material. When drawing monster designs, he also considered the specific movements of these creatures in the film. Looking back at the second film, he explained that some work was helped by others, and the key animation remained the most time-consuming part.
