Comedy audition for 'Tomoyo After'
In 2016, she recalled that before casting for "planetarian," she auditioned for "Tomoyo After." The producers explained that the brand values laughter and emotion, and as far as she knows, the selection seemed to be driven by a comedic line.
Dual-role recording for "Tomoyo After."
In the same interview, she said that both Yingwen and Henanzi were played by herself, and their conversations gave her long periods of speaking alone; She also remembered the touching chapters these two would later create.
From solo recordings to live scenes
Keiko Suzuki recalls that when recording early "planetarian" games, she often recorded solo recordings. By the time of the animation production, she had already gained more experience acting alongside actors, allowing her to participate in recording in a state different from back then.
Voice-like adjustment with a dreamy touch
In the anime version, Yumemi's head-to-body ratio has been increased. Suzuki imagined her in-game way of speaking as looking up to call out to guests, but in the anime, she faces forward and speaks in a slightly calmer tone; This change in spatial sense also alters the tone of the sound.
The accumulation of the opening sound
Suzuki specifically mentioned the contrast between the two speaking styles at the beginning: when Yumemi first started, she just mechanically speaks, but later, when she bids farewell to the planetarium's staff, her speech becomes more human-like. She understood this change as the result of the robot continuously listening to people's conversations and internally accumulating information.
