Before the cherry blossoms bloom

Short story 'Before the Cherry Blossoms Bloom' continues with EXTRA Junka's ending. Although Shirogane Takeshi and Jian Junxia became lovers, their interactions still resembled those of old childhood friends; As graduation approached, an argument made neither willing to back down, causing classmates like Chizuru and Renji to worry about them. The story revolves around facing each other honestly again, with the closing song performed by Minami Kuribayashi.

Short stories about people

The expansion edition adapts character stories previously published on the official website into game content with voice acting, and includes the previously published Meiye arc in magazines. Junka, Meiya, Chizuru Sakaki, Kei Ayamine, and Jinhime Tamase each have their own chapters, supplementing daily life not covered in this story; According to the official explanation, Takeshi Shirogane does not voice work in these short stories.

Cards and additional content

Muv-Luv Duelist transformed Rumbling Angel into a computer card game, featuring a programming story mode and free battles. It simplifies rules for beginners; computer judgment is not equivalent to physical card competition rules. Additionally, it includes special broadcast episodes, wallpapers, and audio accessories; This content catalog is not entirely identical to the later short story collections.

A lover's story before graduation

Starting from the ending of EXTRA Sumika, Take and Sumika are now lovers, but they quarrel over trivial matters. Chizuru, Renhime, and other classmates worried about the two, and the short story takes about 2–3 hours to show their candid reunion before graduation.

Card and audio content

MuvLuv Duelist adapted Rumbling Angel into a tutorial story and free battles, simplifying some abilities and timelines. Each of the five original characters has a full voice acting story, and Takeshi does not voice a voice in this story; Additionally, a special Kimi no Zoradio broadcast featuring Kasa Fujihara was also present.

Related songs

The ending theme of the short story of the same name, performed by Minami Kuribayashi before the cherry blossoms bloom; The duelist opens with 'AngelSeed' performed by MIQ, and the ending title 'Fight!' is performed by the six-member duet, with lyrics by Minami Kuribayashi and composer credited as ZIZZ. Alternative trailer also uses JAM Project's roar toward the future.

Two types of releases and first press appendix

The first edition was released on December 17, 2004, and the regular edition on December 24. The former comes with a physical card set and a live DVD, with the card set matching the default PC setup. The DVD includes Chiyoren Festival-related performance videos. Bou is the signature art and character design, while the script is signed by Onichujin Tamu and Anti-Gravity Lifema.
