An unstoppable fondness

The protagonist knows he is part of some man-made arrangement, yet he cannot easily refuse his feelings for Xiao Rong. Living together in the snowy mountains juxtaposes gentle daily life with the dilemma of losing autonomy, with players gradually understanding their circumstances through their choices.

Main characters

Rong is a college student with childish behavior, referring to the protagonist as siblings, with no blood relation between them. The professor is the guardian of the protagonist and Xiaolong, acting eccentricity and keeping an eye on outside news; The scholar Xiaoxue, who prefers solitude, has her own persistence, and their interactions further lead beyond the cabin.

Ending and Additional Story

The game features multiple endings, and completing the full level unlocks a new story. Chinese dubbing and text work together to advance the narrative; The questioning of the source of emotions runs through the characters' relationships, and players must respond under established influences.

PC release

The Steam product page is listed as release date February 27, 2019, supports full Chinese Simplified voice acting, and offers Traditional Chinese and English text, including achievements and cloud saves.

Guardian and mountain life

Xiaorong is a college student, still childish; Although the protagonist calls her "younger sister," they are not related by blood. The "Professor" is their guardian, their actual age unknown, and they often react strongly to outside news. Xiaoxue is a lonely scholar who is not good with words, and she has her own emotional struggles.

Emotional issues in the cabin

The mutual love between the protagonist and Xiao Rong is forcibly influenced by the genetic modification technology in the story. The daily life of the mountain cabin juxtaposes with the uncontrollable emotions, with drugs and technology gradually becoming central issues in the characters' relationships.

Original soundtrack included

The original soundtrack DLC released on February 27, 2019, was created by the Windbell Music Club for the game, featuring ten tracks; Provides WAV and 320kbps mp3.

Honesty and rechoice

The professor's confrontation with the journalist reveals the experiments behind cabin life. This piece, "Simple Happiness," makes the protagonist give up questioning and immerse himself in everyday life; In "The Happiness of Lies," he already knows the truth but chooses to hide it from Xiao Rong. In "Rong," the two learn the truth and try to break free from their arrangements. Their emotional changes bring estrangement and setbacks, and they ultimately return to the snowy mountain cabin, decide to get married and start anew.

A side story about Xiaoxue

The story shifts to Xiaoxue: the government arranges a husband for her, and the artificial emotions restrict her physical reactions. She did not accept the marriage and ultimately rebelled fiercely by burning down the wooden house. This arranged marriage presents another emotional dilemma, connecting to the choices made by the two in this story.

The reasons behind adoption and withdrawal

The male lead in the "Rong" arc was originally an orphan, while Rong underwent gene editing from infancy. The professor adopted the two and had them participate in a pairing experiment without their knowledge. After the experiment was reported by the media, the two were repeatedly questioned before leaving their daily routine and entering a cabin deep in the mountains.

Yukibane's escape and conflict with the cabin

In the extra 'Snow' arc, Xiaoxue accepts the pairing technique at her parents' urging. To escape her husband, she went to the mountain cabin where the male lead and Xiao Rong had lived, but he chased after her. In the end, she kills her husband in the cabin, refusing to continue being controlled by this manipulated relationship. The two stories connect in the same wooden cabin, with the former seclusion becoming the scene of a side story conflict.

Archived and old versions of the 2021 English edition
