Studio work and arrangement of different songs
In his early career, Kenichiro Oishi worked on synthesizer sound production, bringing equipment to the studio and creating and adding sounds according to on-site requirements.
While participating in the 'Mistikku Broadcasting Station' radio drama CD, he had multiple exchanges with music producer YOFFY, and was later invited to continue collaborating, thus entering the work of animation and tokusatsu music.
After the ending theme for "Engine Sentai Go-Ongar" was selected through a contest, the production team discussed having the group perform it and invited him, who originally intended to do only behind-the-scenes work, to join the spotlight. He accepted the invitation.
After reading the work's setting and listening to the OP, he chose to highlight joy and incorporate modern musical elements. The OP sample track originally leaned toward retro electric guitar, but he added subtle electronic sounds to echo robotics and mechanical technology.
"Engine Second Wrap" hardly reuses the accompaniment from the previous song's ending credits, but retains direction to match the visuals and children's dances. The lyrics are difficult to embed into the original melody, so he adjusted the melody accordingly.
《テイクオフ! Go-On Wings' was derived from a change of the BGM from the show. He handles basic band arrangements with a more mature British rock direction, with Megumi Ohashi responsible for the orchestral arrangements.
In a 2024 interview, Oishi also reflected on the production data sent by friends, suggesting that percussion be added to the arrangement to enhance the rhythm.
Studied at the Computer Music and Music Academy
Kenichiro Oishi started using computers at age 10 and started computer music production at 14. He started playing drums in high school and also participated in bands and game production; A role-playing game he and friends developed won the grand prize in the National High School Computer Software Competition organized by Wangwen Society.
After graduating from high school, he went to Tokyo and majored in drumming in the LM Department at Yamaha Music Academy (formerly Nemu Music Institute), where he began arranging music during his studies.
Entering musicals and stage music
In 2004, Oishi participated in arranging the musical 'The Prince of Tennis,' marking the beginning of his career in musicals and stage music.
