Summer travel

The protagonist uses summer vacation to come to Hokkaido, and a fourteen-day journey is led by her cousin Haruno Kotori. Real locations like Sapporo, Otaru, and Biei serve as the story stages, with city streets, shops, and dining also contributing to the sense of travel. Players choose where to go and who to meet, and their journeys gradually shift to different characters' stories.

Meeting again, I visit again

The characters are not all concentrated at the same school: some meet on the journey, others live in more distant towns. Take Megumi Aida's route as an example: the itinerary starts from New Chitose Airport and Sapporo and heads to the ranch in Biei; After meeting in summer, the relationship will reunite in winter. Spatial movement and seasonal changes together organize the character route.

C.B.S. in the conversation.

During a session, you can press X to interrupt a conversation, which is the core of the C.B.S. system. Responding at the right moment and interrupting casually may restart the conversation; Initiating communication affects likability. It puts interaction into the ongoing conversation, rather than just waiting for the entire dialogue to end and then pick options.

Ending and production

Choices made along the route change the destination, and affection also affects whether the ending occurs after the credits. Therefore, completing a travel itinerary is not the same as seeing a complete ending of a character. The game was released by Hudson on March 18, 1999, with character art styles presented under NOCCHI's name at the time.

Sapporo classmate and relative of Biei

Kotori and Ayu are both members of the Osato High School tennis club, with Kozue being their senior; Kotonari and Megumi of Biei Farm are also reinstated. Kotoni's mother, Yoko, works at Sapporo TV, and her older brother Kosaku switched from game design in Tokyo to running a ranch.

Journeys of different professions meet again

Otaru's glass workshop worker Tanya, Sapporo's trainee doctor Kaoru, and Chitose Self-Defense Force officer Yuko extend their encounters during travel to different living environments. Yonoka attends another school, and her older brother runs a ramen shop. She keeps in touch with a group of classmates from Osato High School.

Hokkaido background and music products

Hudson introduced that most developers are based in Sapporo, the game uses live-action backgrounds and 2D characters, with Hiroi Ouji responsible for original work and general production, and NOCCHI handling the illustrations. Theme song: Kita e. performed by Four Seasons; There is also a MIL-CD music image product of the ZMCZ-656.

DC Original: Mini-games and companion selection

The bonus mini-games in the original DC series are linked to the completion status of the Summer Chapter: playing Techno Maze with Ayu and completing her Summer Chapter, or playing Sunflower Maze with Megumi and completing her Summer Chapter, will unlock the corresponding game respectively. After completing all eight summer chapters, you can freely choose from Hokkaido Quiz, Techno Maze, and Sunflower Maze companions.
