Analysis and arrangement of the YU-NO remastered soundtrack
When producing the soundtrack for the PS4/PS Vita remake of "YU-NO," Yonao first analyzed the original data of the PC-9801-86 track by track, organized melodies transitioning between different tracks, and listened to the original audio source to confirm before proceeding with the arrangement.
He first made a minimally varied first draft, then gradually added dynamic and weak elements, raw instruments, and cinematic treatments. The entire batch of tracks was completed and then revised, with the first full submission taking about five to six months; He organizes the key points of each piece by listening to the original piece.
Commissioned to remake the soundtrack
Makoto Asada believed that Yonao understood the characteristics of Ryu Umemomoto's original compositions, so he asked him and Takami Ryu, who had long worked with Umemoto's music, to jointly oversee the recomposing. Yonao recalls that the official commission arrived in mid-January 2015.
