Use image color grading methods for illustration
Tatsuya Yuuki wrote illustration and color grading tutorials for Magic Visualizer, introducing methods to add visual effects to illustrations through After Effects and Magic Bullet Looks. He usually splits the image into three parts: background, characters, and effects, prepares materials separately, and then unifies the overall composition through compositing and adjustments; This approach draws on the compositing of animation backgrounds and character materials.
Background light color and adjustable layers
In the tutorial example, Yuki first determines the general background color, light source color, and intensity, then arranges the character's color scheme accordingly. He suggested keeping layers by component for easier future modifications; The final effect requires local adjustments and key animation corrections to complete the final effect. When color dominates the scene, he also suggests preparing for impression boards and temporarily adding lighting effects to judge the color scheme.
