The production of "Ark of the Sheep."
Shiro credits this work as character designer and illustrator.
The first work of Symphonic Rain
While searching for a style that suited Ritsuko Okazaki's musical world, Beatier discovered Shiro and invited him to stay. After accepting the offer, he learned he was still a university student. During his studies, Shiro completed most of the event illustrations and character portraits.
Editorial feedback in the comic storyboard
In the early serialization of "Heading Toward the Mountain," Shiro discovered that the manga needed to alternate between key and transitional panels. Through editing manuscripts, he learned to advance the frame, turn pages, and guide the viewer's gaze, adjusting his habits of single-panel illustration-style expression.
ComicStudio conversion and first episode redraw
The manga initially used SAI; After the editor suggested switching to ComicStudio, he found that line expression and manipulation were better suited to comics. When producing the tankōbon, he redrew the entire first chapter originally drawn with SAI, and continued adapting to new tools throughout serialization.
Color schemes adjusted according to the visual
When talking about early color illustrations, Shiro said he didn't establish a fixed color palette in advance, but instead matched colors according to the mood of the time, so each painting used different colors.
