Battlefield scenes and lyric conception
When Kana Demomoko wrote the lyrics, she imagined fighter jet cockpit and battlefields, and in the latter chorus, she expresses the childlike spirit of young soldiers.
Title selection and dialogue-style lyrics
Kanade Moko initially considered naming it with the image of water lilies, but later linked the title of "Downfall Flowers" to the newly added war content. The middle lyrics describe the conflict of unwillingness to fight yet still fighting as a direct statement by the character, without any further explanation.
