Rinka, whose grandmother runs the Lion House café, dies protecting her friends in a train explosion. She then returned to a daily life as if nothing had happened, and those around her continued their usual lives. A few days later, a girl named Parca explains the selection ritual to her, making the anomalous survival a mystery to investigate.

Participants must obtain the names, causes of death, and regrets of others before they can nominate the other person out during the ceremony. This information needs to be sought in real life; relying solely on a superficial identity cannot reveal a person's whole character. The investigation gradually turns the competitors into people with concrete experiences and also makes Rinka reconsider her own aspirations.
