Early spring performances

In the still-chilly spring, Jiaran, Bella, Jiale, Nailin, and Xiangwan prepare for the same performance. The work progresses between playfulness, interaction, and individual desires, depicting their experiences supporting each other for friendship and dreams. Zhijiang City is the fictional setting of this work; the plot is not a documentary based on real-life events.

The different sides of the five people

Jiaran appears as lively and gluttonous, Bella takes on the role of the strict stage dance captain, and Jiale is linked to singing; Nailin is a sister-type character willing to listen to her thoughts, while Xiang Wan retains her love for gaming. A Cao participates in their daily lives and performance preparations, allowing characters with different personalities to interact during shared events.

Read and branch

Players read chapter by chapter and use options to advance the story toward different branches and endings. Music and CG unlock as you progress, allowing you to revisit related content beyond reading. The production team introduced the text to about 100,000 words, featuring a dedicated opening theme and detailed notes in both text and visuals.

Created by fellow creators

The game was released for free on Steam on June 11, 2021, offering Chinese Simplified text and available for Windows and macOS. Character illustrations are created using A-SOUL's MMD models as material; The team stated that they would abide by the derivative work agreement, with characters and events in the game unfolding according to the game's alternate history.

Five people and alpacas

Jiaran, Bella, Jiale, Nailin, and Xiangwan are the five girls in the story, with Acao being the mischievous alpaca who participates in the performance together. They interact, support each other, and prepare for their idol's performance in the fictional Zhijiang City.

Fan Positioning and Content

Produced and published by A-SOUL GameMaker Project, the game features a storyline of about 100,000 words, with multiple branches and different endings. Music and CG can be gradually unlocked. The developers explicitly classified it as a derivative work and stated that the game world is unrelated to real characters or events.

Jiaran's mission and the medicine of Penglai

Jiaran grew up in a church and was cared for by nuns and priests. After becoming an idol, she followed the researchers into the slums and heard the audience's expectations for A-SOUL. A Cao used this opportunity to persuade her to take the Penglai medicine, so she could understand and endure others' suffering. Jiaran's amnesia thus became linked to a plan to collect and purify the city's negative emotions.

Jiale's wavering and Bella's old wounds

After Jiaran loses her memory, Jiale insists on graduating for a while, leading to disputes with other members. Acao promised Jiale and Bella to form a duo in exchange for her help; Jiale finally recalls her shared experiences with the members, refuses to cooperate, and tells Ah Cao about her plan. Bella and Jiale had met early on at Garan Temple. Bella later left the ballet team due to a back injury, and it was Jiale and her landlady grandmother who helped her overcome the low point and return to her idol career.

The Garan Monastery and Shiyue Zhao

Bella practiced martial arts at Garan Temple during her childhood. During the monastery's abbot Shi Yuezhao's return to secular life, Abbot was exploited by Ah Cao, repeatedly challenging the academy and triggering a ban on martial arts, leading to the temple's subsequent demolition; Shi Yuezhao later became the head of security at Zhijiang Building. Bella storms into the building to rescue Jiale and confronts him. After Shi Yuezhao was defeated, she agreed to atone. The two climbed the stairs together to challenge Acao. Shi Yuezhao was killed, and Bella escaped after learning Jiale was safe.

Nailin withdrew from the mission

Nailin infiltrates the group as an agent, monitoring Jiaran while taking medication, and, according to the contract, prepares to bring the amnesiac Jiaran back to the building. Xiang Wan stayed by Jiaran's side the whole time, making the mission difficult. After talking with Xiang Wan, Nailin revisited her feelings for her teammates and went alone to Zhijiang Mansion, deciding not to accept A Cao's orders anymore.

The cycle of evening and the final choice

Xiang Wan witnessed teammates die, Jia Ran disappear, and the device activate during repeated cycles. She returned to the church with Jiaran, where she found the curtain that could harm the gods in a secret chamber. In the final battle, she uses this weapon to kill A Cao, but cannot destroy the device that gathers the city's negative emotions; Jiaran completed the ceremony, temporarily letting the residents lay down their burdens. If you choose to be dissatisfied after this ending, you will enter a bullet hell mini-game to encourage the chat to clear malicious bullet comments, and the number of messages you can launch increases as you progress.
