From stage props to voice acting
Chikahiro Kobayashi was invited to join the drama club during university, initially responsible for large-scale props, but later moved to the front lines due to a shortage of actors. During a tour with the troupe, he received a Japanese dubbing job for a Korean drama and found that the distance between facing the theater audience and speaking in front of the microphone was different; After that, his work on voice gradually increased.
Auditions and the handling of lines
Reflecting on the audition of "Golden Kamuy," Kobayashi Chikahiro said he did not expect to be selected, so he tried to perform as much as possible and was already capable of it. In his 2024 school lecture, he explained that when handling lines, he puts himself in the person's shoes, using his own words to convey the characters' emotions; Performances are preset based solely on deep or cheerful tones, which sometimes do not align with the requirements of the live performance.
