The beginning of the island prison
Emma Sakuraha was about to start a new school life, but when she woke up, she found herself locked in a cell. The girls imprisoned with her were told they might become witches. The closed facility and imposed communal living form the initial scenario of the story.
The thirteen girls each have their own unique experiences and personalities. After the incident, they needed to discuss the truth together, but they also risked becoming targets of suspicion. The work combines group life, personal secrets, and murder cases; the horror comes not only from the unknown beyond the island, but also from the gradually changing relationships between the two parties.
Explore and Witch Trials
The game consists of scene exploration, character interactions, and trials. Information obtained from investigations must be cross-referenced with testimony, and during trials, contradictions should be pointed out and questions about how events occurred. Magical abilities exist within the world of the work, and when judging possibilities, one must consider the already explained ability conditions.
The Witch Trial is a collective discussion and resolution mechanism in the story, not a multiplayer battle where you can freely choose factions. As the chapters progress, new information and perspectives change players' perceptions of earlier events. The homepage only retains the system and premise, without listing the murderer or execution results of each case.
Version and production information
The Steam product page lists Acacia and Re, AER, publishers Re, AER, and Circle Line Games, with a release date of July 18, 2025. The store's text and voice language must be read according to their respective sections: Chinese text support cannot be automatically understood as Chinese dubbing.
Official announcements continue to record program updates. Details such as automatic archiving should be described according to the version of the program in use; Discussions during trials may also use different archive timings compared to regular ADV scenes. Writing only the early demo version guide may not match the official interface.
Adaptation and Reading Scope
KADOKAWA's novel product introduction uses the same title and the opening situation of Emma Sakuraha but the novel serves as a different medium. Game entries can be listed as related publications and cannot replace the game flow with the order of novel chapters.
This work features elements of violence, death, and psychological horror. Character profiles should retain information available at first meeting; Case review, ability truth, and ending are separately spoiled chapters for readers to decide whether to proceed.
The prison house is provided to the warden
The prisoners are managed by the owl warden, Gokcho. The girls lose their original daily lives for no reason, living together and exploring their surroundings in the mansion; After the murder, the warden announces the witch judge, demanding that they select the witches who should be executed.
The situation of 13 alternates
Emma is positive but afraid of being disliked; Hiro insists on justice; An-An speaks through the art book. Street artist Noah, actress Leia, and girl anchor Coco each have their own public identities; Margo appears friendly but distrusts others, while Nanoka understands Yashiki but refuses to cooperate. Each person's public image and inner trauma are involved in the puzzle.
Reveal magic
Noah can manipulate liquids, Alisa can ignite fire, Sherry possesses superhuman strength, Hanna can float, and Meruru can heal. The abilities of the remaining characters are not revealed in the public details.
Explore and referee cycle
The ADV section conducts communication, house exploration, and field investigations; The judge uses evidence, magical information, and contradictory statements to find the culprit. After the execution, the number of survivors decreases, living together leads to new tragedies.
Planning and distribution
Re,AER's brand Acacia was responsible for planning and scriptwriting, Umemaro designed the characters, SLAVE. V-V-R produced the theme song. The Steam version will be released on July 18, 2025, while Nintendo records the Switch release date as July 9, 2026.
Alternating perspectives and saving people in a flashback
The first round is from Emma's perspective, with Hiro being executed at the beginning for resisting the guards. After Emma becomes a witch after a companion's death, the story then shifts to Hiro, who has the ability to return to death. In the second round, those who were killed early may become criminals, and the original criminals may also become victims; After spending time with Noa, Nanoka, and Emma and losing them, Hiro conducts a longer retrospective, using the trauma and relationships he has learned to fight for the survival of his companions.
Relationship changes in two rounds of cases
The first round involves Leia killing Noah, the second case is Ann killing Milia, and the third is Shelly killing her friend Hannah. The second round of first and second cases became Margo killing Meruru, and Nanoka killing Coco; The third scenario is Noah killing An-An; the fourth plan is Hannah killing Leia and Emma. In the second round, Shelly chooses to accompany Hanna, who is being punished, and their deaths lead to a different outcome from the first round's perpetrator.
The ability to hide and identify oneself
Leia's true magic is the induction of the gaze; she once concealed her abilities; Although Milia can swap bodies, she claims to be a middle-aged man but is just a disguise. Nanoka's vision can see part of the space-time information, while Coco's clairvoyance can observe other parallel worlds. Witching also enhances magic. Margo's imitation is not limited to human voices; she can also reproduce reactions and cancel them out with inverse sounds.
Settlement and Ultimate Survival Range
During Noah's second incarceration, he reconciled with Hiro through the water bowl. In the latter half, Alisa tries to make everyone die together, and after discussion and blame, finally expresses her apology; Hiro gradually lets go of his own righteous attitude and reconciles with Emma. In the final chapter, Yuki abandons the goal of humanity's extinction and dies together with Meruru, while the remaining 12 magical girls survive.
