Training Camp and Rematch (Anime Adaptation · Spoilers)
In episode 3 of the anime, Takatou and Kunahama hold a joint training camp, and Misaki is assigned to face the previous national tournament champion, Shindo. In episode 6, the two face off again. Shindo takes actions she did not anticipate, and Misaki continues to respond with the advice of Akiya.

Asuka from EXTRA2 mentioned that although she trained with Takatou during the summer, Shinfuji voluntarily did not compete with her, and only later arranged a rematch in practice.
EXTRA2: Three matches
In a practice match against Asuka, Shindo won 2-0. Asuka uses Sonic Boost and tries to take a shortcut to block him, but he intercepts with Suicida.
Before leaving Shion, he challenged Shion Aoyagi and won; Reiko acts as his off-court coach, while Akira coaches Shion. In the end, he faced Misaki and lost 3-4.
