Another summer route
The protagonist met his filming partner during a two-month summer camp at Koukai Academy. In this version, he joins the E-Video Club, led by Seiya Doshita, and receives love advice from his older sister Yuina; Mariana, a Finnish exchange student, is the main female lead.
The difference between the two versions
Gold Beach and Blue Ocean both feature the same group of characters. The differences focus on the club, character stories, free events, and video shooting styles, rather than each featuring only some female leads. Both versions ultimately aim for the display and confession of the Kokae Festival.
Video and communication
After talking to the character, you can invite them to shoot, and the Vita body serves as a virtual camera for framing. Videos can be saved in albums and converted to MP4, and still photos can also be captured. The daily action periods and the five-chance conversation system together influence the process of approaching characters.
Release
The PS Vita version was released on October 20, 2016, the same day as Blue Ocean. The developer is KADOKAWA, and the publisher is Kadokawa Games. Before release, some bonus outfit DLC delays were announced, with the bonus distribution schedule recorded separately from the game's base game date.
A review of the production of the character scenes
In 2018, Ichiro Sugiyama reviewed the creation of the "Recolav" imagery, explaining that at the time, he mainly used polygons and textured images to depict the figures.
Filming gameplay and narrative strategy
The love story in 'Recollav' adopts a bright and relaxed atmosphere. Sugiyama explained that the gameplay of having players directly film character videos is not suitable for calm stories, so this approach was chosen.
