The postwar crisis in Seattle
TDA Episode 2 continues from the previous installment. Marimo Jinguji was dismissed for violating an agreement with the United States, but Hibiki Tatsurou was hailed as a national hero; Knowing what had happened, he couldn't calmly accept such treatment. The food production facility built by Japan was originally expected to ease Tacoma's food problem, but on the day it opened, it was occupied by unknown individuals. Hibiki and others were assigned the mission to infiltrate and reclaim the facility.
War Dog Squad
Hibiki leads the 17th Squad, with Yuzuka Sendou supporting him with her outstanding tactical machine piloting skills; The new guardian, Mio no Shizuku, is a war orphan still searching for clues to her hometown. The temporary leader of the squad, Sayoko Komaki, succeeded Jingu Tsukasa, was strict with Hibiki, and also faced pressure to compare herself to her predecessor. Personnel adjustments and a supply crisis together form the opening of this episode.
Another chapter: 'Rebirth'
The short story shifts to the Yokohama base in late summer 2001. After being wounded, Italian guard Silvio undergoes mechanization and, as a European intelligence agent, comes to Japan to protect Yuko Kazuki, only to discover that the 'Isumi Valkyrie' members treat him with very unusual behavior. This mission takes place within the backdrop of Alternative, setting up separately from TDA's postwar world.
Scope of inclusion in the portfolio
The original physical edition also includes a TDA supplement, a radio special, a Revoltech model pose lecture, and a wallpaper collection. The first press edition includes a visual guidebook and other items. Therefore, Chronicle 03 is a multi-content collection. TDA's Episode 02 and Collection 03 do not contradict each other, nor should they be regarded as identical products.
Reissue and reading position
The DMM download version notes that its content continues from the 2020 edition of âge's 20th anniversary collection, with the page indicating 2025 as the launch date for this downloadable product. Understanding TDA Episode 2 requires the war and exile background established in previous episodes; "Rebirth" uses readers' knowledge of the characters at the Yokohama base to supplement tasks beyond the main story.
The factory crisis in episode 2 of THE DAY AFTER
The Japanese Empire built a synthetic food factory to solve Seattle's food problem, and General Kobuin Yuyou arrived. On the day the facility began operation, it was occupied, the general went missing, and Hibiki led the 17th Squad Wardog to storm in, attempting to complete the rescue and suppress the attackers.
Another series: Soldiers
The official TDA character profile introduces Hibiki, Yuzuka, Eren, and Shizuku's Wardog, as well as Battalion Commander Marimo, classmate Matsukaze, mechanic Sayaka, American soldiers Walken and Lilia, and Ritsuko Oue. Ranks and experiences belong to the TDA world; whether all volumes appear requires separate comparison.
Subsequent digital versions
TDA episode 02 was released on Steam as a remastered version on January 29, 2021, jointly developed by aNCOR and fuzz, and published by aNCHOR. This date corresponds to a separate digital version, separate from the original Chronicles03 release record.
