In the original DC Tanya route, Kaoru happens to be present when Tanya has a seizure and collapses, and Kaoru intervenes to help her. This rescue takes place in a branch of Tanya's story.
In Kaoru's original DC storyline, she initially focuses on reading and hardly responds to the protagonist; The protagonist came to sit beside him every day, and only then did the two gradually become close. The protagonist is later injured and hospitalized while protecting her, and Kaoru lends him a book to read. Afterwards, the two went together to Noboribetsu for their stay, staying at Hotel Mahoroba.
