Nine different stories in the same frame
The story begins with searching for a warm place and entering a building but getting trapped. The female leads have three different names and images: Watanabe Mari, Ando Mari, and Mizuno Mari, each corresponding to three branches. Choosing to change is not just the ending of a story, but also the process of how they met, their feelings, and their past.
Three groups of characters and branches
Mari Watanabe is a form of Mario, hate, Mari-neechan; Mari Ando as the Ghost of Eve, Childhood Friend, First Girlfriend; Mari Mizuno's 17-year-old farewell, a mysterious boy, and Eve's gift. The three names are not the three companions accompanying the protagonist at the same time.
Meeting, threats, and rescue
Mari-neechan touches on old relationships through recollections and conversations. In Eve's Ghost, the two face threats—escape and sacrifice, hurting each other and leading to different outcomes. During the childhood friend's emergency actions and Eve's gift, he climbs in time to save Mari from the fall, causing a disagreement in the rescue beyond the dialogue choices.
Ending and Unlock
Mario is available at first, and after a good ending, other stories unlock. The old guide divided the results of each branch into good, bad, and neutral; After all the good endings, you can directly choose the story. Some options are timed, and there is also a rock-paper-scissors variation.
Production and character portrayal
Table of Contents: Script by Asami Mashira and Music PANDA. The character pages for the dubbing project correspond the characters of Mari Watanabe, Mari Ando, and Mari Mizuno to Serika Himuro, Ken Ryusei, and Kochi Munakata. This information is used to distinguish the image; the full factory settings still need to be supplemented.
Early models and music
PC98 Strategy Notes, July 1996, five floppy disks; Table of Contents dated July 26, 1996. Dubbed music recordings distinguish FM/MIDI audio sources from PC98 and CD music on Windows 95. The strategy mentions two BGM tracks: 'Farewell at 17' and 'Reunion with the Past', with the branch and the song of the same name registered separately.
