Agency members
Mikagura Tokito is the head of the office and specializes in deduction. Tomoe Shikase focuses on action, Shigeno Kumiyama comes from a noble family, Chizuru Higaki manages the agency's accounting and aspires to become a writer; Young Ranmaru also assists with the work. Art dealer Miwa Moriyama is the owner of the building where the office is located, while Inspector Moroboshi cooperates with the others in the case.
Successor to the Bizarre Alliance
The story begins with Tomoe being hypnotized and people getting hurt, and with encouragement from Moroboshi, Tomoe reinvestigates. The game also includes the previous game's "Strange Alliance," allowing you to review the first half of the case before moving on to the sequel. It not only fills up the previous unresolved mystery but also continues to tell the story of trust among agency members.
The stage of the case
"The Mirage Clan" revolves around Shigeno's familiar viscount's family and indoor murder cases; "Touch of the Darkness" involves Tokito and Kazumiwa Ranmaru assisting in the investigation in Niigata. The "Living Doll" begins with a child searching for his mother, featuring masks resembling the three assistants. "Sa・yo・な・ら" links the mission of escorting Buddhist statues to theft and murder on a ship. The side story of the "Octagonal Mansion Incident" also begins with a letter of help from an old friend.
Investigation and answers
Suspicious information in conversations requires a limited number of inference triggers for follow-up interrogation. The sequel retains the structure of investigation and case resolution, and adds multiple-choice reasoning questions in the answering section. Some scenes are now controlled by Shijin, Ranmaru, or Miwa Investigation, with action animations displaying prompts before input. Clear performance corresponds to ratings from S to D and different illustration rewards.
Release and subsequent versions
The original PS version was released by Human on October 7, 1999, with a reprint in 2000. HAMSTER released the Game Archives version on November 25, 2009, and had previously jointly held the rights with NUDE MAKER. In 2003, 'New Mikagura Girl Detective Club' also included Windows ports of the previous two titles; It is a follow-up work and is released separately from the main installment.
