The work of the compilation office
Junya Kazemi organizes cases that are difficult to explain with common sense on the fifth basement level of the Metropolitan Police Department, trying to judge various possibilities and reclassify them. He works with Soichiro Kogure, while his boss, Inudo Ranko, often spends his time on TV, naps, and gambling.

One day after work, Kazemi meets his high school classmate, Yukino Tachibana, who is also his first love. Yukino comes to the Metropolitan Police Department to collect the belongings of her husband who died by suicide. She completely rejects supernatural explanations and often clashes with Fenghai, who considers both scientific and bizarre possibilities.

Mizuaki Kirisaki lost his parents in middle school and later moved into the home of his father's friend, Junya Kazemi's father. Therefore, to Junya, he was like a biological older brother. Kirisaki's folklore and urban legend knowledge can provide clues for investigations, but he seems to have other long-term events he has investigated and never reveals to others.
