Adaptation and continuation

The game retains the characters and relationships of the Grand View Garden, rearranging subsequent developments with selectable game storylines. The two characters in the title not only carry on the clues left by the original work, but also include the creative ideas of the production team. Screenwriter Roland explained that this writing style is an extended interpretation provided by the team and does not mean it can confirm the original meaning of Cao Xueqin's unfinished part.

The relationship between Prince Bei Jing and the Northern Quiet King

Roland is responsible for the story related to King Beijing. In her creative interview, she mentioned that if Prince Bei Jing keeps helping the protagonist, the relationships between characters will be hard to advance; Therefore, Xu Beiqian's suggestion was adopted, allowing him to experience major setbacks and then use these changes to advance their relationship. The game doesn't just add a fixed ending to existing characters; it lets circumstances influence subsequent choices.

New content and performances

The publisher introduced about 300,000 new characters of storyline, added main character voices, and adjusted CG and animation performances. Characters like Miaoyu, Qingwen, Shi Xiangyun, and Xue Baochai continue to appear, with the connections between characters extending into different stories. The theme song "Three Lifetimes Fate" was performed by Dong Zhen, with Xiao Xu Game Music Studio participating in the lyrics, composition, and production.

Production staff

The script credits included Luo Lan and Chen Yue, with Xu Beiqian, Luo Lan, and Tang Yong participating in the script performance, and Bai Jie serving as the lead art director. Lin Daiyu is voiced by Ren Yijie, Prince of Beijing is voiced by Zhang Yunlong, and other actors include Chen Hong, Zhao Hong, Jiang Yan, and Zhang Biyu. The game was released for Windows in early 2010.

A new Beijingwang branch route

The sequel focuses on the emotional entanglements between Prince Beijing, Baoyu, and Daiyu. Roland is responsible for the Bei Jing Wang side story and the Bei Dai ending. Following Xu Beiqian's advice, he lets the King of Beijing experience major setbacks to drive changes in the protagonist's relationship with him.

The premise for adapting the ending

The screenwriter explained that the ending of Beidai is based on Baoyu's marriage decree, arranging the characters' actions through new dramatic scenarios. This is a sequel version of the game, with a plot that differs from the original book's conclusion.

Sequel performances and songs

The work added over 300,000 words, improved the interface and opening and ending animations, and added the main character's voice lines throughout. The new theme song "Three Lifetimes of Fate" is performed by Dong Zhen, independently developed by Beijing Entertainment Communication, and distributed by Game Paradise.
