"Moonshadow Illusion" (月影のシミュラクル) is a legendary-themed text adventure released by Appurike and HighLevel. The 2016 original story centers on Seiichi Uzuki's return home to attend the Kisaragi family ceremony and encounter the legend of the "living doll."

Return to Ize
Seiichi receives an invitation from his cousin Rei Kisaragi and returns to Izawa Street, where he lived as a child. The area is a summer retreat, and the Kisaragi family mansion deep in the forest has been inherited by descendants of government craftsmen. Seiichi's Uzuki family is a branch of his family, and he originally saw this return home as an opportunity to reunite with friends and family.
The rites of marriage and birth
When the head of the Kisaragi family is in poor health, Seiichi is entrusted to replace him during the ceremony as the companion for the family puppet. Once the ceremony began, the unavoidable questions arose of whether the doll Kisaragi truly had life and why it resembled Zero so much. Old stories of the mansion, past fires, and new events gradually connect.
Childhood companions
Rei is the main girl who grew up with Makoto in the same year; Kazuha Minazuki works as a maid in the Kisaragi household and is also the granddaughter of housekeeper Sae Minazuki. Old friends Miyu Nogami and Shinobu Ichijo also reunite with him after returning home. Close relationships and family secrets coexist, gradually revealing another side of the familiar hometown.
Original and expanded versions
The 2016 version was released as a free app, including character voices. The 2017 film 'Tsukikage no Simulacru -Liberation no Ha-' added follow-up developments based on this; Scriptwriter Tong Yue explained that the early "Night Journey" in the extended version corresponds to the original mobile version's endpoint. Thus, the two versions share a common beginning, but the full route and ending range differ.
Free original production available
Kirizuki is responsible for setting the plan, script, and all the text. On October 3, 2016, the author confirmed that the all-ages versions for Windows, Android, and iOS were now available for free, and explained that the production was named High Level and Applique was the brand.
Extended flowchart
In 2019, Steam's Feather of Liberation was published by HIKARI FIELD, with artwork, script, and music credited to Odawara, Hakone, Kirizuki, and Shinobu Takaishi, respectively. The first ending is fixed; completing a new ending gradually unlocks options from the original section; After thirteen possible endings, you still need to read the flowchart and the post-story to complete the game.
Differences in the Ending (Spoilers)
The author juxtaposes Nightwalker with the Feather of Liberation: the Red has left Izé, but the former breaks the bonds by cutting off the family bloodline on the land, while the latter leads the characters toward the future. Rei, in purification, also wants to end the fate alone. Whether Seiichi comes to see her, whether her final wish is fulfilled, changes Aka's actions toward him.
Original and Extended OP
"Wings of Freedom" served as the opening theme for both the 2016 original version and the 2017 Wings of Liberation, performed by Hiromi Sato, with lyrics by Miina Hanyu, composed and arranged by Meis Clauson, and music produced by Angel Note.
