A reunion on Hatsune Island

Junichi possesses incredible abilities such as conjuring wagashi from his hands and seeing others' dreams, yet he still lives the life of an ordinary student. Yoshino Sakura, who had been away from the island for six years, suddenly returned to his side, her appearance seemingly unchanged. The interactions of Kazami Academy, Nemu, and Kotori Shirakawa once again intertwined with the island's cherry blossom legends.

Remake content

This game retains the character relationships and world settings from the original, with redesigned visuals and a new voice cast; Feng Qi appears as a newly added character.

This work is a complete remake of the 2002 version of 'D.C.', adding a mysterious girl named Kazeki to the original story of Hatsune Island. Wearing a demon mask, Kazeki meets Junichi in a forest cave and also tries to help others on the island. Junichi can conjure wagashi out of thin air and see other people's dreams.

Distribution and Projects

The work is jointly launched by CIRCUS and Bushido-related projects, with the official release date marked as October 30, 2025. Character, art, and product information are all gathered on the dedicated official website, with a new voice cast corresponding to this remake.

Produced by CIRCUS and distributed by Bushiroad, with character design by Natsuki Tanhara and Yuki Taka, with key animation by Haru Azuma and Shayuri also participating, and a co-authored script by Aiha. On October 30, 2025, the Switch and Windows versions will be released. The Windows release includes Steam and DMM, supporting Japanese, English, Simplified, and Traditional Chinese.

Characters and remastered voice acting

Nemu is Junichi's sworn sister; Miharu and Nemu both serve as disciplinary committee members; Cousin Yoshino Sakura returns after six years away from the island. Moe Mizukoshi and Mako are both in the music club, skilled at piano and violin respectively. The remake features re-dubbing, with Otomu starring Kaede Hondo, Chiharu Sakura, and Kana Kotoriyu Ichinose, while Miharu, Raiko, and Kazekinori are portrayed by Miku Ito, Kaori Ishihara, and Hikaru Tono, respectively.

Discussion about the remaster's production

CIRCUS had long been uncertain about how to launch the original remake, but Bushiroad's invitation became a collaborative opportunity. During the meeting, proposals to add new characters, update the design, and voice helped director Lin gradually determine the direction for current and new players. Character design by Natsuki Harahara and Yuki Takano, while retaining character identification features while updating the art style; Recording requires actors to perform according to the characters in the film.

The scope of revisions for remade scripts

Feng Qi was once considered to solve mysteries from the old series, but the developers later abandoned the idea of solving the puzzles directly. The expansion of Mako's route led to a rewrite of Moe's sister and family relationships, and also meant that the scenes where the two don't appear needed to be proofread as well. Yoriko was revealed as the main female lead during the promotional phase, and the producers no longer introduced her as a hidden character.
