Starting with the suspect

Eita Komaki often encounters misfortune and is once again suspected in a locker room theft incident. Maya Higuchi, who admires a hardline detective, questions him, and Eita investigates with her to prove his innocence. The detective club initiated by Maya thus became the new center of his school life.

A partner in the detective department

Maya is in charge of the investigation, Tora is skilled at observation and has a keen sense of smell, and Natsu is familiar with mechanical equipment. The three have different specialties and participate in handling incidents, creating comedic interactions with Eita's situation. Voice acting is provided by Kana Hanazawa, Yuka Iguchi, and Minori Chihara, with Maya and Tora Yoka respectively.

Map survey

After the incident, players choose locations related to the case and search for information together with the club members. Investigations at certain locations trigger subsequent events, and reading daily routines and selecting survey targets alternate accordingly. Players need to enter the reasoning phase based on the information they have gathered.

Reasoning slots and evaluations

If you choose the wrong inference during reasoning, it consumes the reasoning gauge; if it drops to zero, it fails. After each case, the Tantei Check will evaluate Eita's performance in the incident. Investigation, reasoning, and case closure evaluation form the basic process of a single case.

A four-volume continuous story

The series was released in four consecutive volumes in 2011. After the first volume, September 29 was "Cipher, Locked Room, and Monsters"; October 27 was "The Disbandment of the Club, Paintings, and Bombs"; November 24 was "Disappearance, Counterattack, and the Grand Finale." The volumes together form a long development, and the subtitle of the first volume alone cannot summarize the entire series.

Collection

On March 28, 2013, BOOSTON released the UMD version of 'Tanteibu Kuattro Pack,' which included all four volumes in one set. The first three volumes are CERO C, the fourth volume is CERO B, and the collection still retains differences in content and ratings from each volume.
