Musical collaboration at VA-11 HALL-A
Garoad recalls that around the end of 2013, he met Sukeban Games online and emailed him to offer the music. Christopher replied that he has been following his YouTube work and has been involved since the early conception and the preparation stage for the 2014 Cyberpunk Game Jam.
When composing, he can consult different versions of demos, concept art, scripts, and work experience ideas, and share musical directions with the team; The trust built through previous collaborations gave him the freedom to create music.
He also collaborated with Adriana Figueroa on songs for the character Kiramiki.
To show respect for Ryu Umemomoto, he named a song "Umemoto."
The mutual inspiration between music and visuals
According to Christopher Ortiz, when producing the music for "VA-11 HALL-A," he sometimes gave Garoad his favorite songs as references; Sometimes, Garoad's original music inspires the game visuals, which then inspire subsequent music.
