During a discussion with the creators of 'Shinjuku Funeral,' Tetsuo Yuuki, who coordinates progress, reflected that he wanted to increase Magaki's screen time, but judged that adding him to the main story would be redundant, so he was instead allowed to appear in a short story as an additional episode. The casting was also handled by Yuuki himself; Kataoka proposed hiring someone who could perform well with a good voice, and most preferred voice actors were ultimately accepted.
When Tetsuo Yuki reviewed the recording of "Shinjuku Bomei," Yui Ishikawa thoroughly studied the script for Rinne and asked questions about the characters on site; Lines across different timelines require complex acting skills. Regarding the message notification sounds, Yuuki imagined them as stamina bars, making him energetic when receiving many messages and weak when receiving few. The game originally did not have this prompt screen effect, but was later developed by NekoNekosoft.
