From lively drafts to quiet character charisma
Illustration: 'Kimi, She, and Her Love. When it comes to character, Tsuro Santai first drafts the general image provided by Bio Shimokura, then reads the script and adjusts it. Initially shifting from a lighter direction to a serious and quiet temperament, Aoi's design underwent a major overhaul except for hair color.
Lines and watercolor backgrounds are well matched
This work suggests a watercolor-inspired background. Jinlu uses lighter, thinner lines with multiple strokes on the figures, paying particular attention to the hair. He wanted characters to match soft backgrounds, avoiding strong or exaggerated appearances that would first shape the player's impression.
Communication of Yutaro Akebo's draft
Illustration: 'Kimi, She, and Her Love. During the time of Yutaro Akebono, Tsuji Santa struggled to shake off the image of his previous work. Shitakura repeatedly pointed out that the direction was inconsistent, but later used the passionate character who seriously did foolish things, and explained his intentions with the character 'Burn O Burning', which allowed Tsuji to complete the design.
Key animation leads with communication with background references
"Kimi, She, and Her Love." In the early stages of production, Tsuro Santari and Shimokura Bio first advanced the script, character design, and event concept art, and only after the content was formed did other staff members join. When preparing the watercolor background, Jinlu suggested to the background staff the visual feel inspired by the animation "The Wandering Son."
