Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is a horror adventure centered around the events of Tenjin Elementary School. Different experiences at Tianshen Primary School

Students from schools like Kisaragi Academy each have their own experiences within the Cursed Space. This work reexamines certain deaths and encounters: if the characters had sensed danger or taken different actions beforehand, things could have turned out differently. These changes include parallel possibilities; you can't simply piece all chapters together into the same timeline.

After escaping

Besides the story of returning to Tenjin Elementary School, the work also focuses on how survivors confront the death of their companions, as well as the connection between the "Book of Shadows" in the title and the events. Therefore, this work is not simply a retelling of the previous game, but rather a collection of experiences and subsequent chapters.

First-person investigation

The exploration section uses first-person scenes and tap-based investigations, allowing players to examine room details and advance the story. Japanese dubbing uses directional sound to present horror events, with text, CG, and sound all presenting the horror events.

PC version and collection

The PC version, released on October 29, 2018, is based on the PSP version with enhanced graphics clarity and mouse control, developed by MAGES. and published by XSEED Games and Marvelous USA. Gallery, music, voice interviews, and more can be gradually unlocked. Importing previous game saves unlocks extra images and conditions that affect the final chapter's unlock conditions.

Seven main storylines with perspective configurations

The official summary describes the work as a collection of interconnected single-story stories centered around "Blood Covered Repeated Fear," promoting seven main storylines. The main perspectives in the first to seventh stories are Naomi Nakajima, Mayu Suzumoto, Yui Shishido, Sayaka Ogami, Sakutaro Morishige, Yuka Mochida, and Togo Kirisaki, each with different experiences and encounters.

Original script and PSP release announcement

The script was once again written by Shin Kitain from Team GrisGris, with the sound continued to be recorded using Dummy Head binaural audio. The PSP official website initially announced a release date of August 4, 2011, but then announced a postponement on June 21, and a September 1 announcement clearly stated the release date.
