The stories of the seniors
The senior mentioned in "Ji Shen" becomes the narrative centerpiece of the story. Xicheng and Lingxing are both top students, and the story shifts the focus from the main series protagonists to them, depicting a campus romance mainly formed by their interactions. The garden and dance practice turn their usual spare time into a space where they can get close to each other.
The Western Chancellor and Lingxing
Xicheng is not good at expressing her feelings, and her seemingly solitary attitude makes it hard for others to approach her; Ling Xing is more cheerful and can respond proactively and build rapport. The two do not connect through major external events, but gradually confirm their importance to the other through conversation and companionship.
The position of a short story spin-off
The producers explicitly listed the work as the first episode of Linghua Gaiden, which is relatively short, focusing on the complete and focused development of relationships among the seniors. It supplements the lives of the characters at the academy where "Ji Shen" is located, belongs to the same series as "A Thousand Faces" and "Everlasting Night," and does not replace the main story.
Visuals, sound, and distribution
The Steam version was released on March 1, 2021, by PeriScope Game, supporting both Windows and macOS. Character voices are provided by Shui Yan Luo Bu, Bai Ye, and Lu; Eternal Dance MK2 handled character design, CG, and color; sea urchin handled the background; Saul Robinson was responsible for the music; and H no Tenpyo wrote the script.
Performance and interface credit
Besides the character design, CG, and color of the eternal dance MK2, the Cat in the Box handles the UI, and Galin Tietietie performs the performance; Sea urchin draws the background, Saul Robinson composes the music, and H no Tenpyo writes the script. Shuiyanluo Bu and Bai Ye and Lu are two actors in the voice cast.
