The first case of the new appointment
To share the work of the Nanmachi Magistrate's Office, the newly established Nakamachi Magistrate Office welcomed Shimei Ooka. Rimu Hiraga, whom he met as a child, came with him, while Sakura Toyama was assigned from Kitamachi as the supervisor. The girl Koume Kawai is accused of being involved in the Okacho case and will stand trial the next day; Based on the suspicious details of the case, Zhiming judged that she might be innocent and began searching for the real culprit.
Investigation and adjudication
Usually, an episode begins with the adventure section explaining the events, then moves into the investigation phase. Players travel to different locations, question characters, and collect evidence. Then, in the Fengxing section, they listen to testimonies from witnesses, reasoning and refuting with evidence to gradually narrow down the suspicion scope. Conflicts of opinion between characters directly constitute gameplay.
Stage and performance
Oukacho features streetscapes similar to Edo, with music and character actions centered around a traditional Japanese setting. Besides the main storyline, it also includes the female lead's love story; Sword drama is portrayed through ink-painted style event visuals.
Main unit restructured
"Sakura Judge Zan" was published by dramatic create, with IRODORI participating in the original story and production collaboration, and launched on PS Vita on February 22, 2018. This version adds story and visuals, and uses the voice cast from the console version.
The duties of the new magistrate and Sakura's dissatisfaction
Zhiming is well-versed in knowledge and books, yet still wants to prove he can take over his father's responsibilities as a magistrate. Sakura, daughter of the Kitamachi Magistrate, was strongly dissatisfied with his position and believed it should have been held herself; Her abilities and assistance did not eliminate this sense of rivalry.
Cooperation between the magistrate's office and the Shinsengumi
The Shinsengumi did not directly accept orders from the shogunate or magistrates, but cooperated with the magistrates' offices for urban safety. Before Zhiming was familiar with affairs, Kondo held real influence and guided newcomers; Sannan takes care of the dormitory and daily affairs, while Hijikata, as a childhood friend of Shimei and Rimu, becomes a trusted team member.
