2010 Voice Handling for Image Songs
When recording the PS2 limited edition image song "echt forgather," Hitomi Harada adjusted the thickness, width, and vibration of her vocals according to the producer's wishes to express the image of both the song and the work.
The street and group portraits during the performance
Harada recalled the scenes that appeared during the performance, including streets, guardrails, white wings, and the sky. What she keeps in mind is the overall presence of the main characters, organizing the song's emotions through these fragments.
Glanzend's track order and new song perspective
During the production of her 2015 solo album "glanzend," the producer proposed a track sequence to Hitomi Harada, starting with the title track and ending with her debut single "Once"; She approved of this head-to-end arrangement and agreed to adopt it.
While recording the new song "Wings of the Name Lucifer," Harada sang from the perspective of a divine messenger looking down at humanity. The song contains operatic elements, but she experiments with different expressions and performs it with a mocking singing style.
Velvet Crow and Promessa's production
"Velvet Crow" was selected by Harada from the campaign songs, allowing her to try a stronger band rock direction. During recording, she learned the allocation of syllables and rhythm on site; The English part uses a Japanese-style singing style, differing from the emphasis on English intonation in the previous "Resonance no True Force."
Before the label change, "Promessa" was produced as the opening theme for "Arcana Familia 2." Harada recalled that he once worried about the fate of the song's inclusion, but later it was included in "Glanzend."
Single recordings and track reviews
When recording the opening theme "Magenta Another Sky" for the 2012 TV anime "Arcana Familia," Harada used a sweeter voice than usual to express the vulnerability and danger of Felicitta's adolescence. The demo was in a lower key, and after pre-production auditions, she felt unsatisfied and asked the producers to improve the key during the official recording.
The accompanying track "pilgrim ~Light of Destiny~" allows her to freely submit her direction. She asked Shigeo Komori to compose songs with a minor tune and R&B rhythm while retaining a pop feel, and gave Emi Inaba lyrics, repeatedly discussing the scenery referred to in the lyrics.
The two discussed the title all the way until the cover was printed, and finally merged the two proposals: 'Pilgrim' and 'Light of Destiny.' When singing, she uses falsetto and vibrato, controlling the degree of technique to avoid appearing forced.
In a 2015 interview for his solo album "Glänzend," Harada recalled that during recording, he would record different vocal styles with different accents and vibratos and then compare them with the team. The long note at the end of the climax chorus of "Wings Named Lucifer" uses the voice she naturally produces according to her mood at the time.
Recalling the ending theme "Rush Theory" from the TV anime "Senran Kagura," she said that the sample tape originally had a higher pitch, but after production discussions, the tone was lowered to convey heaviness and low notes. The track "Courtship Real" from "Once" was recorded earlier than the title track; This was her first time deeply involved in recording and on-site mastering, and her own requests were also taken into account during production.
While recording "Resonance no True Force," lyricist LINDEN checked his English pronunciation at every spot, including the 'r' sound. She also explained that she reserved some Japanese-style pronunciations for her listeners.
After recording the theme song "Burnt Red" for the smartphone game "The Machine Girl Is Hurt," she chose the version with the most contemptuous vocal style.
