After leaving home to start school, he met Li Xiye, who lived next door in the corridor. The girl's living was very simple, with the acoustic guitar as a prominent item in the room. Their relationship began with this ordinary life.

Li Xiye comes from a poor family, is used to managing her own life, excels academically, and hopes to become a lawyer. She is usually calm, but can also feel inferior because of her family's situation. Du Lin's friend Zuo Qingfeng comes from a privileged family and is loyal, able to help at critical moments.
