The invitation and character design for 'New Dormitory Burial'
When inviting Kohaku Sumeragi for "Shinjuku Funeral," Rokuro Soma valued her ability to paint both attractive women and handsome men. The initial commission was for comic character design, and the project later transitioned to gaming. The planning for additional event CGs also went back and forth: he first requested about 20 images, Kataoka requested at least 10 more, and when the additional demand exceeded 15, Kataoka asked him for help.
Looking back, Souma's character in "Shinjuku Burial" was initially rather emotionless; To move the story forward, she is gradually adjusted to be a sarcastic character, and Kataoka also hopes to preserve the cute contrast. Yuuki explained that Rinon initially only had a calm expression, but later, like Mashiro, added a cute expression. Soma also explained that Mashiro's white outfit was part of the visuals: other characters' outfits tend to be darker, so he wanted to include the white-clad characters.
