The village in Keiichi's eyes
Keiichi moved to Hinamizawa due to his father's work, attended school with Reina Ryugu, and participated in after-school games organized by Mion Sonozaki. Satoko Hojo enjoys pranks, while Rika Furute often remains calm during arguments. The intimate atmosphere of the community formed his first impression of the village.
Clues to the old construction site
When Lena goes treasure-hunting at an abandoned dam construction site, Kei first comes across materials related to the local history. Photographer Tomizake's conversation, friends' avoidance of the past, and police questioning make him realize there are things in the village he doesn't know. The idea that the shrine deity is causing trouble gradually became part of daily life.
Reading Form
The original story uses sound, background, and character art to complement the entire story, without any options to rewrite the ending. How much Keiichi knows and how he understands others determines the information readers can access at the moment; The questions left in this chapter will continue to be explored in subsequent chapters.
English Hou edition
MangaGamer reissued a revised translation of the Hou version, offering a switch between old and new character illustrations, and porting it to Windows, macOS, and Linux using Unity. This version still does not include character voice acting, which differs from the console version, which uses full voice acting and other performance formats.
Included in 'Cui'
This story is included in PS3/Vita's Higurashi When They Cry and is part of its nineteen-story collection, offering full voice and cross-platform archives.
The story of the latest version begins
After Keiichi moves into Hinamizawa, he leads a lively daily life with Rena, Mion, and others. As the Mennagawa Festival approaches, photographer Tomitake reveals old village stories, and he begins to notice that his friends are hiding the same past.
Reina's tools and Keiichi's fears
In the original PC Onikakushi arc, Reina was searching for treasure and tracking at an abandoned construction site, and Kei was wielding an axe at the time; The Xinghai Society Bunko edition changed it to thallium. Keiichi's feelings toward her words also change with the events: his once close repetitive habit becomes unsettling when he is afraid.
The place where Tomitake died
Keiichi rides a large stone car past the village outskirts and notices the bumps as the gravel road turns into a paved road, recalling that Tomitake's body was found at this very border. The internal roads of Hinamizawa were unpaved and only became paved after reaching Okomiya Palace; There were no street lamps outside the village, so walking at night required illumination.
A bat swung at a teammate
In this story, Keiichi ultimately kills his comrades with a metal bat. From daily interactions to seeing his companions as threats, the story follows his observations and understanding, and the final chapter does not resolve all misunderstandings.
