Series stages
FrontWing defines "Fruit," "Labyrinth," and "Paradise" as a trilogy of games centered around the private Mihama Academy and the mysterious Yuji Kazami. "Fruit" tells the personal stories of young girls, "Labyrinth" reveals Yuji's past, and "Paradise" serves as the final chapter of the trilogy.
Yuji's disappearance and rescue operation
At the end of the previous work 'Labyrinth's Cocoon', Yuji suddenly disappears. Mihama Girls worry about his whereabouts and later learn he is caught up in a massive conspiracy and cannot return to the academy. The girls who had been saved by Yuji then began their operation, aiming to bring him back to Mihama. FrontWing's series page lists this rescue as the main opening theme of Paradise.
Differences in console porting
The original work is a Windows game. Prototype adds new screens drawn by Akio Watanabe and Fumio for the PSP/PS Vita version. The PS Vita edition also offers 960×544 display, color correction, and touchscreen operations. Message advancement, selection, backtracking, and chapter jumping can all be done via touchscreen, and it supports PS Vita TV.
Switch Collection and Production
The Switch "Fruit Dungeon Paradise Complete Pack," released on November 7, 2019, includes a trilogy and several side stories, supporting switching between Japanese and English versions, Japanese voice acting, touchscreen, and single Joy-Con controls.
The original artwork credits for the compilation are Akio Watanabe and Fumio; The script list includes Nachi Kio, Ryuta Fujisaki, Yuichi Kuwashima, Kazuya, and Eiji Narumi; BGM produced by Elements Garden, Pixelbee, and Fumiki Matsumoto. This is the overall attribution of the collection.
Rescue Yuji and the early days of the academy
Oslo appears in the main maze storyline, and Yuji soon gets involved in terrorist and national schemes. The girls act to save him. Another part from the previous day goes back to before Yuji enrolled: Yumiko, the only student at the school's founding, who met the second transfer student; Yumiko's father is the commander-in-chief of the Kanto region.
This archive and related chapters
The official Paradise Arc profile lists Yuuji, five school girls, Chizuru, JB, Ichihime, and Oslo. The PSP/Vita version also includes the first episode of the magical girl spin-off, using the story setting of idols and magical girls.
Ichiki and the national defense system
The original PC main storyline revealed that Ichihime survived a bus accident and once became the biological core of the Thanatos system while amnesia. With the help of the system, she and Mihama girls jointly rescue Yuji, and then reunites with Yuji and Amane in her original form. Previous public records recorded Ichihime as the victim of the accident, which was the understanding at the beginning of the story.
Rescue from old acquaintances in the army
Yuji's former companion Robbie possesses information analysis and network skills, participated in Thanatos research, and later lived under the name James Okada. He and Millie, who arrived in a combat helicopter, both participated in the rescue. After recovering Yuji, 'Bran Ael Seed' continued its advance, who headed to Tartaros Island for a decisive battle with Oslo.
Mutual support before enrollment
In the early days of the school, in the prelude, Amane helps Makina open up to her friends, Michiru and Sachi gradually form a partnership, and Yumiko decides to protect her companions at the academy. These connections had already begun to be established before Yuji transferred in.
Released on handheld consoles in 2014
PSP and PS Vita "Paradise" were released on December 11, 2014, which is a different release date from the original 2013 PC version. The original PC-related soundtrack was released on May 22, 2013, splitting the BGM and vocal theme songs into separate discs.
Subsequent eras in the official timeline
Frontwing's 15th anniversary chronology clearly places Volume 1 of "Phantom Trigger" after the events of "Paradise," and unfolds another gray story with girls under the SORD system.
Main storyline first reading and selection location (original PC)
The original PC version first had players read "The Seed of Branale." Most of this main storyline progresses continuously, with choices only appearing near the end.
Revert after read and message restart (PS Vita)
The PS Vita version allows you to immediately rewind forward after loading a save or restart from a message selected from the backtracking. Options can be displayed at the center or bottom of the screen, and there are also quick save and quick load options.
