Spanning two worlds

Heiqi accidentally passed through Cross Gate and was called Cross Sword by people from another world. Patty, Tsukika Hinoki, and Ren assist him in his journey, and the fairies accompanying him also join the journey. Finding a way home means possibly separation from partners, and fulfilling missions and maintaining relationships become interconnected issues.

Routes and mini-games

A review article with complete gameplay records explains that the routes of the three main girls are chosen at the beginning, progressed through continuous narrative within the route, and interspersed with mini-games. The mini-game performance does not change the main storyline; After completing the main route, there are additional stories. Its reading structure differs from the romance game that repeatedly branches at every dialogue node.

Production and sound

The game was released for Windows on October 21, 2005, with Sumire Nanohana responsible for the script and Izumi Sakurazawa providing key artwork. Kana Acheng voices Patty. Broccoli's activity information also records Kana Asumi's experiences auditioning for this work and participating in the theme song and character song.

Continental and spatial gateways

The story is set in the otherworldly world of Ettertia, where a real-world boy arrives through the spatial hole Crossgate. PC games are the main part of the project, with related novels, comics, broadcasts, and songs also participating in its development.

Three product specifications

Limited edition booklet, cast photos, sound audition and short character song ROMs, and new illustrated box; Standard edition supplement. The repackaged version adds four photos to the random inclusion pool, reuses the bonus ROM, and features a new packaging. The accessories of the three types differ.

Sound units and theme songs

Composed of Kana Asumi, Yuka Iguchi, and Ai Tokunaga, CW/3, commonly known as Kurowassan. In 2005, a live report from the character exhibition documented the announcement of his unit name, and he performed the opening "Over The Sky" and the closing "Kimi no Memory."

The Black Nest and the Hero's Mission

Ordinary high school student Kurosu crosses the Cross Gate in an accident, loses his memory and name, and takes on the task of closing the entrance under the name of the Hero Cross Sword. The strong-willed Patty, the shrine maiden Tsukika who recognizes him as a hero, and the taciturn but magic-skilled Ren accompany them. The elven doctor Reese teaches Ren magic, while the knight Illia teaches the protagonist's swordsmanship.

Family, old acquaintances, and spirits

Patty's father, Zem, is the leader of the Ernis vigilante regiment, strict and caring toward his daughter. In the real world, Osamu and Nami are childhood friends of Kurosu; The Fairy Pearl can sense cross-dimensional entrances; although prone to errors, it possesses powerful latent magical power.

Etatia and Parnaser

Etartia is a complete world with multiple continents and islands. The continent where this game is located is called Palnaizer. Its eight districts include the main stage Ernis, the workshop city of Kars, Ragweed, the Great Sea of Trees, the Sanctuary, the Land of Death, the Desert Region, and the distant southern island of Fantasy. The official website lists Reinu as part of the world setting, but the trailer states she will not appear in this game.

Three fairy companions

Patty's partner Amber can heal with orbs, offsetting the risks of close combat; Tsukika's partner Nekome is lively and active, and the Cat's Eye Orb possesses illusion powers; Ren's companion Oniquis is knowledgeable and rarely expressionless, able to explain her four-character idiom, uses black white agate orbs to ward off evil, and also uses lightning magic.

Town defense and industry

Ernis is ruled by Lyon III, replacing city walls and passes with magical barriers and resident amulets, while the northern Morin district is the main living quarter of the main characters. Curs, on the other hand, is a guild city that values technology gained from cross-industry entrances, developing magical institutions that combine magic and science, and telematics networks powered by fairy orbs.

Forests, sacred lands, and guardian fairies

The Rudol Great Tree Sea is rich in ecology, but its magnetic field and cross-border gateway can confuse explorers; The southeastern Ludral is famous for its diverse flying creatures and vast waters. Members of the guardian fairy group GGF come from specialized academies, participate in cross-border entrance management and communication, and there are unconfirmed secret realm rumors in the world setting.
