The third volume of 'Kizuna' in 'Kaitan' is told from Tomoe's detective perspective. A student injured in the incident at the school involving Reina, admitted to a psychiatric hospital and fell out of a window just before discharge. Ba suspects it was not a suicide and continues the investigation with Nagisa, the deceased's girlfriend.
During the investigation, Tomoe encounters a series of dangers: his car is damaged and leaks oil while heading to Hinamizawa, and he is attacked when seeking help at a phone booth; After returning to the city, the car he was riding in with his sister exploded in a parking lot.
Nagisa Yorina meets and wants to clarify the past school incident, but is then attacked, abandoned on the road, and ultimately killed by a truck. Ba wanted to continue finding the killer, but her boss, worried she would be silenced by the organization behind the case, transferred her to another department.
