Digital illustration production
In Cintiq Creators Mash-Up, Shirou Miwa spent three days and a total of 18 hours completing the illustrations, recording the entire process from sketching to completion on video. Director Kazuryo Seki proposed a method of presenting illustration participation through the drawing process. Miwa agreed with this idea, and Seki then edited the recording into a video.
Miwa usually draws line art on paper first, then digitally colors it; This time, I started from the base and created everything digitally, experimenting with softer strokes, and started directly and redrew repeatedly. To connect other creators' segments, he chose uniformed girls, first drawing black uniformed girls, then adding white uniformed girls; The girl in the black uniform was initially strict and mature, but he adjusted her face size and expressions to make the two more harmonious.
On the last day of drawing, Seki and Ryo asked Miwa to add apples to connect with the subsequent YKBX production clips. Before drawing an Apple triwa, I first found a few reference photos before completing this additional image.
