Winter Polaris

In modern Tokyo, an abnormal phenomenon known in the news as a disease has appeared, where affected individuals disappear. Civilization gradually comes to a halt, and the protagonist enters the mountains to escape the phenomenon. Years later, he returns to the ruins of the city to search for other survivors and meets a girl who seems to have been waiting for him all along; She claims she will not die, raising even more questions about this encounter.

Sweeper Swimmer

Elena lives on a small island at sea, making a living by sailing ships to deliver goods to neighboring islands. After the storm passed, she discovered and rescued a girl floating on the sea while on a voyage. The girl carries a glass object, crafted beyond Elena's understanding; The origin of the person and the origin of the items together form the story's thread.

The entrance to two stories

Both stories start from ruins and island life, and both change the worlds the characters originally understood through encounters with strangers. The core suspense of "Winter Polaris" revolves around the phenomenon of disappearance and the undead girl, while "Sweeper Swimmer" approaches the issue through rescue and technological differences. The locations, characters, and opening events of both stories differ, and are included together in the release version.

Two apocalyptic perspectives

"Winter Polaris" begins with the gradual disappearance of humans in Tokyo, where the male protagonist meets a girl who claims to be immortal. "Sweeper Swimmer" revolves around Elena rescuing a girl on an island and encountering a mysterious glass object. The two stories start from the city and the island, each pursuing survival and encounters in an abnormal world.

Characters and narrative entry

In the previous story, the girl described herself as "immortal," which was her self-introduction at the beginning. In the latter story, Elena, together with the rescued girl and a mysterious object, forms the clues to the case. Both stories serve as entry points for the same product, produced by stage-nana and published by Sekai Project.

The immortal and incomplete memories

The latter half of Winter Polaris reveals that both the protagonist and Tsubaki have crossed long ages as immortals. They are not completely immortal: if the head is not destroyed, they can revive, but personal experiences can only preserve fragments. The protagonist searches for another undead, initially to make the other a safety net for his memories, and the two travel together for nearly three hundred years.

Separation, interstellar searches, and searching again

After killing another noble's immortal, the two are pursued and separated; The protagonist dies and loses his memory; Tsubaki finds him but cannot make him understand his words. She later borrows the records of the Star Chamber to approach the past, and the protagonist finds her again in new fragments of death and memory. They gradually realized that what they didn't want to lose was the feelings they had for each other.

Accept the reunion after forgetting

The protagonist later chooses to accept the erase of memories and burn the records of the Star Chamber, allowing Tsubaki to live as a girl. The accident restores her memory and sets her out again; the protagonist has also died and lost her memory; The encounter after humanity disappears thus returns to the story's opening. What Tsubaki fears is not death, but forgetting his feelings for him and the present moment.

Two eras and the toilet paper left behind

Elena in Sweeper Swimmer rescues Marie, and the two set out to sea together. The full story reveals that this island age has regressed civilization after humanity disappeared as depicted in Winter Polaris. The note they left behind is eventually received by the protagonist of Winter Polaris, containing words not written by him but known only to him, linking the journeys and memories of the two stories.
