The song first communicates with the theme
The melody was written first, then lyrics were written by Yuichi Kuwashima. To make Arata easier to sing, Reiji included temporary words emphasizing resonance in the demo; Arata recalled that after switching to the official lyrics, her singing became smoother.
Based on Kuwajima's proposals for themes of multiple destinies ultimately convergeing, Ray came up with several song titles that fit the group's expressive habits, and finally settled on 'Crossverse.' He uses Verse to represent the worlds each individual owns, continuing the group's sense of future.
Instrumentation and balance of light and shadow
Reiji centers his compositions on hope. The first draft of the strings was thin and leaned toward rock. After the animation team requested further enrichment of the sound, he greatly increased strings to complete a fuller orchestration.
He tried opening with a beating piano, at one point worried the whole piece would be too bright. After Kuwajima's lyrics incorporated shadows into the work, Reiji felt that the lyrics and melody were balanced.
The rhythm of drumbeats and singing are distinct
Ray uses a pulsating rhythm in the drumming, distinct from the group's usual straight rhythm; He believes this lightness brings a fresh way to express himself in performance.
Arata recalled that the key she tried singing was a half step higher than the final foundation; He felt that singing the final part only once was sufficient, so he arranged a final key change to let the song showcase its own high-pitched characteristics.
