Character design preparation for Angel Beats! 2010
Hironori Toba first noticed Yuzo Hirata's animation skills in both the movements and the cute characters. After consulting with Maeda, he invited him to join the TV anime "Angel Beats!" The key visual sketches drawn by Hirata were also sent to Maeda via email.
Before starting this assignment, Hirata had already drawn the animation character designs based on Na-Ga's original concept. P.A.WORKS' production notes also note that he continuously delivers character designs, layout corrections, and copyright illustrations.
