Differences in the worldview in the crossover dialogue

In a 2021 interview, Shotaro Morikubo reviewed the crossover recording between 'Yume Oukoku to Nemureru 100 no Ouji-sama' and 'Hakuouki Shinkai,' discussing words not present in the original series' worldview. He considered how to get Okita Souji to say these words; even ordinary lines required handling subtle tone.

Preparation and character understanding for Hakuouki OVA

When the new OVA of 'Hakuoki' was included, Shotaro Morikubo and the other actors were unable to attend simultaneously. In his official comment, he recalled that this dubbing was completed thanks to the tacit understanding accumulated through long-term collaboration.

When reprising Okita Souji from the "Hakuoki" OVA, Morikubo deliberately returned to his original form. He first practices lines where Souji refuses to be seen as useless and insists on continuing to fight, then practices the voice of coughing up blood to reclaim his character; Meeting familiar actors also helps him get back into the performing form.

In the recap, Morikubo especially enjoyed playing with the kids and the daily routine of the team. He believed these lighthearted scenes made the tense scenes stand out.

The chief official of the Great Edo Encounter Chronicles

In 'Hakuoki Shinkai Drama CD ~Edo Encounter Chronicles~', Morikubo portrays Souji's proactive and spirited side. The story revolves around his acquaintance with Iba and others during his time at Shieikan, and he made this momentum a key focus of his performances.
