Arrangement and recording of 'PSYVARIAR THE MIX'
When producing "PSYVARIAR THE MIX," Kashiwagi set aside his usual practice of pre-specifying the style and adapted the phrases and sounds to his own preferences. Commissioned by the "Super Rapid Fire style," the pentatonic solo in the latter half references the Punishment Boss theme from that work.
Kashiwagi recalls that learning guitar helped him master the method of composing from riffs; Later, this method was gradually compromised with the original melodic and chord progression.
The sequence and recording of "PSYVARIAR THE MIX" use Cubase4, mainly using software sources; After connecting the Les Paul Jr guitar to the computer's audio interface, it is processed using the GSuite amplifier analog plugin.
Co-wrote 'Laugh it up, Roll with it!' with Rita
In a track-by-track interview for "Merkmal," Rita recalled that Ruzarin Kashiwagi had considered the direction between denpa music and rock. She suggested showing different styles, and then received songs in the style of Loud Rock.
Rita also suggested writing lyrics together, and the two would write about four bars each time via email. She said this process gradually transformed what was originally a somewhat sarcastic and humorous idea into strong and positive lyrics.
