Spin-off project
In April 2026, the production team announced that the original spin-off project would be expanded into a table pet that balances storytelling and companionship.
Story and characters
The protagonist lives in a residential area in Shanghai. After a year of school leave, under the care of his younger sister and guardian Shimeng, he decides to return to university. When he reconnects with the outside world, he meets a young girl and sees scenes that look like game CGs before his eyes; What started as just the life of a sibling unfolds into a romantic comedy among the three characters.
The official version features two romanceable characters: the younger sister Shimeng and the junior He Lu. The work adopts a multi-character and multi-ending reading format.
Reading and interaction
Character dialogue is fully dubbed throughout, with CG and character illustrations performed in Live2D. Real-time conversations use timed options that let players respond during conversations.
Players can set the protagonist's name, and Shimeng will also use the given surname. Mobile communication is another form of performance, with four group chats among the three characters.
Setting and production
The background of Shanghai City comes from on-location shooting, with publicly listed locations including North Bund, Lujiazui, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the city's Third Girls' High School. The development team released the PV in August 2024 and reviewed about two years of development in the official release announcement.
In May 2025, the team offered live demos at CP31, then synced the demo from the same phase to Steam. The July development log records that CG, character art, and cutscenes were completed in June, and the script was finished. Next up is audio and performance production; At that time, the voice acting for Xiaoice and Xiaoyu in the demo had not yet been implemented.
Official version and demo version
The Steam product page shows the official version will be released on September 22, 2025, with a demo available for download. The production team announced the launch on September 23, and the announcement also mentioned that this day was He Lu's birthday.
